GFTS

About the service

GFTS is an interactive decision support tool that helps scientists and policymakers visualise fish movement data, assess how species may respond to changing environmental conditions, and transform complex fish track modelling into spatially explicit, scientifically robust insights to guide fisheries management and marine conservation planning.

Objectives

This tutorial offers step-by-step guidance for using the Global Fish Tracking Service on the DestinE Platform. It introduces the initial view displaying available fish species and tagging campaigns, selecting species for analysis and visualising fish distribution patterns intersected with DestinE Climate Digital Twin data for ocean temperature and salinity. It also shows how to view individual fish tracks, examine temperature and depth measurements, and animate fish movements over time on the map.
